Government Outsourcing Consultant – Public Sector

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are recruiting for an experienced government financial accounting and reporting professional with direct responsibility for consulting engagements of state and local governmental entities.  This includes providing technical guidance, leadership and review of work of staff members assigned to the engagement in accordance with standards as well as maintaining close working relationships with client management. 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Ability to provide CFO/Controller level outsourcing services to potential State and Local government clients

·         Provide governmental GAAP financial reporting and accounting expertise to clients

·         Work collaboratively with other departments to manage the workload for shared staffing resources

·         Ability to oversee staff

·         Assist with development opportunities, proposals and seeking out opportunities in the marketplace to grow the business

·         Ability to maintain positive client relationships

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

·         Four to five years of hands-on public sector accounting and/or auditing experience - required

·         Prior experience directly in the governmental audit or financial reporting area - preferred

·         Knowledge of GAAP (GASB) authoritative guidance and financial reporting

·         Knowledge of government auditing standards and single audits

·         Ability to build and maintain relationships

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking skills

·         Strong time management and organizational skills

·         Strong analytical skills
