POSITION SUMMARY:

We are recruiting for an experienced Government Audit Manager with direct responsibility for audits of state and local governmental entities. This includes providing technical guidance, leadership, and review of work of staff members assigned to the engagement in accordance with standards as well as maintaining close working relationships with client management.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overseeing the planning and performance of financial and single audit engagements

• Identifying business process risks

• Developing testing methodologies to evaluate the adequacy of controls

• Documenting the results of the evaluations

• Developing recommendations and reports based on audits and presenting these ideas to senior management

• Formulating professional development and educational plans for staff members

• Coaching and advising of staff members

• Planning and allocating resources and individuals in accordance with skills and schedules

• Ensuring project timelines and deadlines are adhered to

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting - required

• Four to five years of hands-on accounting or auditing experience - required

• Prior experience directly in the governmental audit area - preferred

• CPA, other certification or governmental-specific credential

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP (GASB) authoritative guidance

• In-depth knowledge of government auditing standards and single audits

• Ability to build and maintain relationships

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking skills

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Strong analytical skills
